Challenger ADC Augustas “Toaster” Ruplys (aka Gakis) has joined EU LCS team Origen, confirming rumours heard by eSports News UK over the past month.
Toaster has appeared on the Origen roster page on the LoL eSports website as an ADC, alongside the likes of Origen founder and former Fnatic mid-laner Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez.
We understand Toaster trialled with Origen a while back, and it seems his move to the organisation has now been confirmed. He’s set to replace xPeke as the starting ADC in week seven of the current EU LCS split.
Toaster is Lithuanian, but has lived in the UK for the past eight years.
He was previously described by UK veteran player Jamie “Tundra” Duthie as ‘probably the best AD in the UK scene’, and was in our opinion one of the most underrated players in the UK Premiership. He used to play for FM-eSports under the alias ‘Toaster’ and most recently played as ‘Gakis’ for Exertus Esports.

“Toaster will play ADC position. He inspires us enough confidence to play this role officially  – and we know he will work hard to fit in the team as quick as possible and get the victories we need.”

xPeke previously told eSports News UK in an interview at Worlds 2015 that Origen would sign a UK player if he was like Faker.
Also joining Origen’s roster is former Exertus top-laner Benjamin “Zhergoth” Sanchez, who has also played in the UK Premiership and confirmed on Reddit he’ll be playing as a sub for Origen.
Origen said in a statement on their website: “Zhergoth is training hard just in case we need him in any moment but our official top is and will be Soaz. We trust him, we all know his ability, and he is the kind of player that even in the worst moments can win games on his own.
“Toaster will play ADC position. He inspires us enough confidence to play this role officially – and we know he will work hard to fit in the team as quick as possible and get the victories we need.
“xPeke will be sub for ADC and Mid so we will maybe watch him playing some games.
We thank all these players that want to be part of Origen and welcome them!”
Toaster is the latest player from the UK scene to play in the LCS, following KaSing and Maxlore (who recently said that more British players could reach the LCS ‘if they changed their mentality’).
eSports News UK previously highlighted Toaster as one of our 13 exciting players from the ESL UK League of Legends Premiership Season 2.
