A new esports league has emerged for competitive UK CSGO players.

The UK Pro League (UKPL) is similar to the FaceIt Pro League, and has been created for UK esports players who want something like this for themselves.
Like the FPL, the Pro League is a pick-up group (PUG)-based ladder for players, in which they can compete for FaceIt points and be ranked in a UK-only ladder.
Monthly prizes include £400 in FaceIt Points, £250 worth of CSGO in-game skins, one GT Omega Chair, three GT Omega backpacks and three tubs of XGamer Energy, with more being added every day.

The UK Pro League has been set up by Radix Esports organisation owner Michael “Afro” Todner, as well as UK CSGO players Sliggy and MightyMax.
The league is still in its early stages – it was only launched a few days ago. But it has already called upon 120 players from the UK CSGO scene to test out its system. These players have been chosen based upon multiple criteria including prior LAN placings and esports experience (for example if they have experience playing in ESEA, Gfinity, UK Masters or ESL Premiership tournaments).

This test has been made so that UK CSGO players are catered for – to provide an effective, competitive ladder for them to play and practice in.

For those interested in joining the UKPL, there will be two ways to qualify once testing has been complete.
UKPL manager Michael “Afro” Todner said: “They can apply to the council (MightyMax, Sliggy, Resu, Jakem, Neilzinho) and they’ll take a look at your application and see if you’re worth inviting.
“The second way to qualify is through an amateur league. That is still in the works as we want to focus on the Pro League. The UKPL is aimed at players who already have prior achievements.”

So far the new league seems to have been well-received by the UK CSGO community.
