The Boyzz are back in town and they just won the Method EU Major

method major 1

The Boyzz may not have seeded high but their spot at number four in the EU rankings should have been a warning to others, as they saw off top opposition to clinch all 40 points and $4,000 in the Method EU Community Cup.
With the WoW World Championships already at the halfway point and limited points available, top-seeded sides faced off against plucky underdogs in the Method hosted community cup weekend.
This was the first time UK-based org Method had hosted such an event after years of competing at the highest level of WoW Esports, from WoW arena to their world famous Method raiding guild (who we would like to join, please).
The cup offered up a prize pool of $8,000 and a total of 80 points (split among the top four) towards the teams’ point total for 2017 Blizzcon finals later this year.
With only three more chances to get points on the board and with top-seeded sides such as Method: Triforce and Making a Movie occupying two of the three bottom spots, it was all to play for.
The first day of matches threw up two shock results as North Gaming Blue dropped into the lower bracket losing to WW/DK in 2k17 lul (trust us, this is funny if you play WoW PVP). Both Another One and Making a Movie were given a bye.
The weekend came and the matches took to the Method Twitch channel. After both dropping to the lower brackets, two of the tournament’s bigger names Method and North Gaming Blue.
Method made it to the lower bracket final, losing out to KFC Managers and moving them onto the Grand Final to face Boyzz, who had beaten KFC in the previous round 3-1.
Boyzz set the stage for their Grand Final brought with KFC Managers in no easy fashion, going into the Major seeded 8th and sitting in 3rd place in the EU Arena standings so far.
Defeating ABC, Making a Movie, Method and KFC Managers before finally defeating KFC Managers for a second time in a decisive 3-1 victory to seal the win, Boyzz’ top share of $8,000 and 40 points towards their points total moving them above Northern Gaming Blue and into second place.
The final three European Cups will take place on  June 24th, July 8th and July 22nd before the EU and NA sides battle it out at Blizzcon.
Method also ended the weekend by announcing the date of their second WoW Arena Major which will take place on July 15th over in the North American series.

A note from David – seedings were based on the teams’ highest arena rating as of the final day of Season 21 (March 28th to June 13th 2017)
