UK Hearthstone player Joe "Ness" Z-F: 'Yogg is ridiculous & not competitive at all' (podcast interview)

ness interview 1

In this audio podcast, Oscar Pelling interviews Joe “Ness” Z-F, winner of the i57 Hearthstone Truesilver Championship and player for UK-based eSports organisation Torpedo.
Ness talks to us about the current state of the meta, missing out on the ESL UK Premiership, as well as starting to stream and offering coaching services on Gamer Sensei.
Ness admitted that failing to qualify for the ESL UK Hearthstone Premiership was disappointing, but said he was happy that his Torpedo teammates – Jambre, Raven and BoarControl – made it.
He also spoke about his win at i57 earlier this year in the Truesilver Championship, and whether there is too much RNG (random number generator) gameplay in Hearthstone nowadays.
“They should try and make it more balanced,” he told eSports News UK. “In some situations RNG cards are awful and other times game-breaking. For example, you can be playing badly and just win the game with Yogg, which is completely ridiculous and not competitive at all.
“It feels disgusting to play against, and you don’t feel good winning with Yogg, but you play it because you want to win and don’t want a disadvantage. So you’re kind of forced into a situation where you play it in several decks. I think a ban list would be nice.
“Hopefully they sort something out with this card before Blizzcon.”
