Renegades Banditos, the winner of the most recent ESL UK League of Legends Premiership, is going through changes.
After the team’s owner Renegades was banned by Riot Games earlier this month, the side have now returned with a new name and tweaked roster.
The team will now be known as Misfits, reports ESPN. Incidentally, this is the same name Renegades was formerly known as before it rebranded in the summer of 2015.
Misfits have also brought in jungler Kim “Wisdom” Tae-wan, mid-laner Marcin “SELFIE” Wolski and Korean solo queue support Han “Dreams” Min-Kook.
These replace Matt “Impaler” Taylor (who has joined Fnatic Academy), Marc “Caedrel” Lamont and Aleksi “Hiiva” Kaikkonen respectively.
Top-laner Barney “Alphari” Morris and ADC Soler “Yuuki60” Florent retain their positions on the team. Team manager Ali “Alicus” Saba will continue to manage Misfits moving forwards.
Sources have confirmed to eSports News UK that the above changes are indeed correct.
While Riot banned both the Banditos and North American sister team Renegades, it is allowing all of the players to continue to play under a new name and branding.
The Misfits (formerly Banditos) will be playing in the EU Challenger Series qualifiers starting tomorrow (Friday May 20th).
Renegades sold its NA LCS slot to EnVyUs earlier this week.
